Adrian Cox loves the water. He says the passion was born over a decade ago, wakeboarding.
After moving from Auckland to Nelson, he got into fishing; snapper, kahawai, and spotties. (The spotties for bait). Adrian is also a bit of a dab hand at cooking as well; smoking, pan frying or oven baking his own catch. Read Adrian's recipes here.
His inflatable boat from Rockboat Marine was purchased in December and he’s already had a fair few compliments, including one from the Coastguard. “They said to me; ‘Wow! What a neat little boat.’ “Quite a few people have commented on it.”
Adrian said he’d thought hard about the purchase, and the inflatable made the most sense. He already had a new engine and the 3-metre V-hull was a good match. “It costs almost nothing to run. It’s just been great, everything you’d want; very safe and reliable.”
Practicality and ease of use were big factors in Adrian’s decision. “It makes getting out there very doable”, he says. He currently uses the boat once a week but is keen to get out more, once he gets even more local knowledge and experience of the lakes.
He appreciated Rockboat Marine’s service and advice. “Tony was great and the price was better than I had thought. The boat has really made a dream come true. Before, I was always 2IC. Now I’m captain.”
